Ticino  or Tessin as it is sometimes known, is the Italian speaking part of Switzerland.   You cross the border from German speaking Switzerland via the spectacular Gotthard Pass from the north– and magically you are in „Italy“….  Italian language, food, architecture, and even palm trees on the shores of endless lakes…   far from the stereotyped image of  Clocks-and-Banks-Switzerland!

 

Bella Ticino!

 

This year, I concentrate on Ticino as the focal point of

Bella Europa Adventures. 

I have spent many happy months in Ticino… in fact I intend to return there to live some day to live– as I personally find it to be as close to paradise as one can get  - and still be on the tax roles :-)

  I have owned a small „Capanna di montagna“ (Mountain Hut) there for 10 years, and had many opportunities to explore and enjoy the hospitality of Ticino.  In fact, on our tour we may pass by this very scenic spot during a small hike in the Ticinese Alps.

Ticino is a treasure of Europe that I invite you to explore with me… by mountain bike, hiking, walking, boat, and cablecar …

Adventure, culture, good food, fine wine and pleasant company await…   Ciao!
